September 9, 2011 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Traverse City North Stars News Release
BIG RAPIDS - The Traverse City North Stars' exhibition season ended with a loss on Thursday evening at Ferris State University, as NAHL North Division rival Port Huron skated to a 5-2 triumph.
Will Badner (Cadillac, MI/Motor City NAHL) and John Chinchen (Saline, MI/Lansing Capitals U18) scored a goal each for Traverse City.
"Port Huron is a good team, and we did not play well tonight," said Stars head coach Chad Fournier. "We're capable of a better performance than we saw tonight."
The North Stars finished the preseason with a 3-1 record, and will open the 2011-12 regular season next Wednesday (Sept. 14) against Texas on the opening day of the NAHL Showcase in suburban Minneapolis.
