Stars take 1-0 lead in NASL semifinals

Andrei Gotsmanov scored in the 90th minute last Saturday to give the Stars a 1-0 lead in their two-legged semifinal series against the Carolina RailHawks. The Stars had threatened early but failed to score, and goalkeeper Joe Warren made seven saves in the game to keep the RailHawks at bay. Should they progress...

With a win or a draw this Saturday, the Stars will clinch a place in the North American Soccer League championship series against either the Puerto Rico Islanders or the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. Advancing would guarantee the Stars an Oct. 22 home game in the opening leg of the series, and tickets would go on sale online this Sunday and by phone Monday morning. Ticket prices will be the same as regular season pricing, but online newsletter subscribers will be able to take advantage of $5 youth and $10 adult general admission tickets through a special offer. Here's a full breakdown of ticket pricing info if the Stars progress and host a playoff game on Oct. 22:

Adult general admission: $12 presale/$14 at the gate Youth general admission: $6/$8 Reserved with chairback: $17/$20 Pitch-side: $25/$30 For youth teams interested in attending as a group, there are also three club packages available for $300 each. Each package includes 30 adult general admission tickets and free admission to youth who serve as pre-game player escorts or ball kids during the game. To inquire about one of these packages for your team, call (763) 792-7355.

If you follow the Stars on Twitter, keep an eye open in the mid-morning, mid-afternoon and evening for trivia questions and your chance to win a pair of tickets to the match.
