Tacoma Stars News Release
Tacoma, WA - The Tacoma Stars are proud to announce seven more rostered players, Todd Stauber, Brayton Knapp, Mark Lee, Chris Kintz, Steve Mohn, Brian Iblings and Amos Freheit. Head Coach, Greg Howes has provided a statement about each player:
"Todd Stauber....Todd brings a level of veteran leadership and technical ability that will be a great addition to an already strong midfield core. Todd's experience and understanding of the indoor game will be important, not only within our system of play, but also as a mentor for some of the younger players."
"Brayton Knapp....Brayton is a strong physical defender with superb technical ability. Brayton has limited indoor experience, but his decision making and understanding of the game is higher than players with more experience. His ability to attack out of the back is a welcome addition to an already solid defensive unit."
"Mark Lee.....Mark has been a integral part of our success over the last 2 years. He has been our engine room in the midfield. Mark creates tough match-ups with his work rate and ability to get up and down the field. Mark also gives the coaching staff the flexibility to play all 5 positions. I look for Mark to build off a strong championship season last year on both sides of the ball."
"Chris Kintz...Any Championship team starts with solid goalkeeping, we have this with Chris. His experience, shot stopping and distribution set him apart from other keepers in the league. He is very skillful with this feet and has a very strong accurate throw, both key attributes to strong indoor goalkeeping. Chris has been a instrumental part of our past successes both on and off the field. His confidence and leadership will be important for the team this year."
"Steve Mohn...Steve brings an attitude and toughness to the back line that the team feeds off. His ball striking gives us a attacker out of the back that is a difficult match-up for any forward. Last year was Steve's first indoor year and he got better and better as the season went on. Having Steve back with the team this year is a key component of our toughness, chemistry and overall attitude of the team."
"Brian Iblings...Brian is a first year player with the team, and has a huge upside. He is physical, strong and very technical. He can line up as both a 2nd forward or a target player. His addition to the Stars gives us another player that can contribute on both sides of the ball as well as the flexibility to slide into multiple positions. Brian also is a character guy, which our team doesn't lack, but Brian brings a mental toughness and quiet confidence that makes him a great fit for the team.
"Amos Freiheit...Amos is going into his 3rd year with the team. His understanding of the system, and his role in that system, have made Amos a important part of our team. He plays within himself and is a total team guy. Amos primarily plays in a target position, but can also play a 2nd forward, which is important with the way roles reverse in the run of play."
More players will be announced Friday. Player profiles can be viewed online at http://TacomaStars.com/index.php?q=Roster
