Stark Named New McAllen Thunder Manager for Inaugural Season

The McAllen Thunder will start it's inaugural season in the North American League with former Major Leaguer and 1st round draft pick in 1983(9th overall) Matt Stark as their Field Manager. Stark is entering his 29th year in professional baseball.

With Major League stints in Toronto (1987) and Chicago (1990) with the White Sox, the North American League and the McAllen Thunder are getting a wealth of knowledge. Stark ended his 18 year playing career as a player/manager in the Mexican Pacific Winter League in 2000. Stark went right in to coaching as he was a AAA hitting coach for the Florida Marlins 2002-2005. In 2006 Stark joined the Seattle Mariners as a International Scouting Supervisor from 2006-2009.

Stark has also been the field coordinator since 2002 for the largest and most productive player development company in the United States, International Performance Baseball since.

Stark declared " What a great opportunity to return to McAllen, Texas and start from scratch with a new franchise, I can't wait to get to South Texas to get the ball rolling."
