Stampeders Host Heritage Night

It's a multicultural celebration on Friday at McMahon Stadium.

In addition to playing host to the Toronto Argonauts in a Canadian Football League contest, the Calgary Stampeders will welcome groups from around the world as part of Heritage Night celebrations.

"It promises to be an entertaining and enriching evening at McMahon on Friday and we look forward to being joined by a variety of cultural groups," said Stampeders vice-president of business operations Jay McNeil. "The Canadian Football League and the Stampeders embrace the 'Diversity is Strength' motto and Friday's Heritage Night will be memorable celebration of cultures from around the world."

Before the 7 p.m. kickoff, there will be a Heritage Night Market in the East Fan Zone including cultural food trucks.

There will be tents with displays from India, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Morocco and China.

On the field, 100 Ukrainian refugees will be holding the flags for the anthem and the halftime show features a performance by Indian pop artist Ikky.

Heritage Night features special offers including a group ticket offer to new Canadians that includes a $10 ticket for children and the opportunity to go to field level for pre-game. In addition, there's an offer that gives the purchaser the opportunity to be at field level during the halftime performance.
