Harrisburg Stampede News Release
HARRISBURG, PA - Harrisburg Stampede's General Manager and Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that Veteran Defensive Stand-Out Jermaine Thaxton has re-signed for the 2012 Season.
Thax is a veteran to the Stampede, and brings with him a wealth of Arena/Indoor experience. His playing days started just outside Pottstown Pa., at Pottsgrove High School. After a stellar HS Career with All-State Honors and also ranked as one of the Top 50 seniors in Pennsylvania, Thax picked the West Virginia Mountaineers to continue his education and football career. After graduation, Jermaine played in the AFL, AF2, CIFL and the AIFA. Jermaine also played some outdoor football this summer with the Chambersburg Cardinals.
Jermaine brings a great deal of versatility to us. He can play DB as well as WR and special teams, but we see Thax being the most comfortable at our Jack LB position. Thax is also a great help and mentor to the younger players breaking in and learning the Indoor game. He is like having a coach on the field. He is an extremely sharp player, who studies the game with great intensity.
Jermaine currently lives in Lemoyne Pa just outside Harrisburg. Being a veteran and a local guy is such a plus for us (the stampede). Thax is always involved with our camps and appearances and constantly gives back to the HBurg and surrounding areas.
Just a Reminder: Stampede Open-Try Out Sunday November 27 at In The Net, Registration starts at 8am and Work-Out is from 9am - 11:30am
