Harrisburg Stampede News Release

HARRISBURG, PA (October 25, 2012) - Harrisburg Stampede's Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski announced today that Veteran Defensive Back Richard Johnson Jr has re-signed for the 2013 Season.

Most games come down to the secondary being able to shut down the offensive wide receivers. RJ is that type of DB that you can count on not just at the end of the game but all game long. In the 2012 season RJ tallied 26 tackles, 1 fumble recovery, 6 pass deflections and 5 interceptions and 2 of those were returned for touchdowns. His team first attitude and unselfish type of play along with his community awareness and dedication is the type of player that this VaTech grad brings to the Stampede.

"The secondary is a tough place to make a living in Indoor Football and sometimes you need to have a short term memory and then the ability to fight right back. RJ has just what it takes to be a great DB. He plays hard and he plays smart and he studies the game and his opponents. He is a solid player and a leader not only on our defense unit but a team leader." Commented Coach Nowotarski

Just a Reminder: The date will be set soon for the First Stampede Open-Try OutSo get ready to show what you have and become a member of the Harrisburg Stampede.
