Harrisburg Stampede News Release
HARRISBURG, PA (December 20, 2012) - Harrisburg Stampede Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that the Stampede has signed DL Jashawn Williams for the 2013 Season.
Jashawn is a native of Brooklyn, NY where he attended Roosevelt HS. He was an All-County and All-Long Island selection. Jashawn played his college football and graduated from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Jashawn was named as the Defensive Linemen of the Year and an All-Conference First Team member of the Division II NE-10. His 12 sacks were second best in all of D-II and was a big part of Jashawn being named to the D-II All-American First Team.
Jashawn is another nice find in the D-II pool of talent that is based here in the Northeastern part of the country. We see JW as a speed rusher and he should fit in very well with our defensive style of play. We like to be aggressive and apply pressure whenever we can from our up-front group and let our DB's cover. At 6'2" and 245lbs, Jashawn is another big, strong and athletic lineman and we expect him to be a big part of the Stampede defense.
Just a Reminder: Stampede First Open Player Try-Out is January 12 at Sports City Harrisburgsee our team web site and FB page for all the details
