Harrisburg Stampede News Release
HARRISBURG, PA (November 28, 2011) - Just one day after Harrisburg Stampede's first Open Work-Out, General Manager/Head Coach, Bernie Nowotarski announced today that the team has signed Line Backer Vincent Tiberi for the 2012 Season.
"We just picked up a really good one" commented Coach Nowotarski. Vincent comes to the Stampede from Middletown Delaware where her was a 4 year Letterman at Middletown HS. His senior year he was named as an All-Conference OLB/TE as well as an All-State OLB and was chosen to play in the Delaware Blue-Gold All-Star game. He continued on to play college football at Wesley College. After his college career, he entered in to the AIFA and became the youngest player at the age of 20 to start for the Baltimore Mariners in 2010.
Vincent took last year off to focus on starting his landscaping company, Tiberi Landscaping. While creating his business future, Vincent spent time doing the things that make Vin tick, his favorites being Hunting, Hitting the gym and spending time with his girlfriend Gabriella. But the football bug was still in Vin and he was seen at several AFL work-outs, including last month's Philadelphia Soul work-out. Knowing Vin from the Mariner days and having to figure out how to block him I made sure he had my contact information. We spoke several times and the proximity of Harrisburg and Middletown along with our practice schedule and possibly having a few former Mariner team mates landed Vin here with the Stampede. At 6'2" 255lbs and with great mobility, he in my opinion is a AIF or for that matter Arena/Indoor proto-type LB. He reads offenses well, studies the game, plays and practices hard all the time and will put a big hit on you, real quick.
Just a Reminder: The next Stampede Open-Try Out is Saturday January 7 at Gameface International Sports Complex in Temple Pa.Registration starts at 9pm and Work-Out is from 10pm - 12:30.
