Stallions Outlast Mill Rats
The Bluegrass Stallions outlasted the Saint John Mill Rats 101-95 at the Davis Reid Gymnasium in Georgetown, Kentucky.
The Mill Rats came out blistering at the outset, leading 12-2, behind the offensive attack of Anthony Anderson, Marc Egerson, and Terry Martin. They kept Kentucky at bay until midway through the second quarter when the Stallions got back in the game, and actually led 55-51 at the half.
The third quarter saw Saint John play with more defensive intensity and make a 21-10 run to claw back ahead to a 72-65 lead with 2:42 left in the third quarter.
The game was tied 83-83 with 4:32 remaining when the Stallions pulled ahead 89-83 and the Mill Rats could not recover.
Anthony Anderson led all scorers with 26 points, Marc Egerson 17, Terry Martin 14, Ross Demasi 11, and PJ Young 10. Bo Harris led Kentucky with 18.
The Mill Rats record falls to 8-8 as a result and Saint John clings to a 1/2 game lead over Halifax for the fourth and final playoff spot. This makes every game critical down the stretch!
The Mill Rats next host the #2 ranked Quebec Kebs on Thursday March 24th at 7pm, the #1 ranked Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry on Sunday March 27th at 4pm, and the Halifax Rainmen on Tuesday March 29th at 7pm.
