Louisville Fire News Release

When Louisville Fire wide receiver/defensive back Tony Stallings asked Fire Head Coach Tommy Johnson for permission to leave the team in May to participate in a reality show on Animal Planet, Coach Johnson gave Stallings his blessing even though he would be missing four to five games to film the show. As it turned out Stallings missed those games for a good reason as he won Animal Planet's King of the Jungle 2 last night.

Stallings had the adventure of a lifetime while in the jungle when he got the chance to interact with lion cubs, an elephant, spiders, snakes and last night a giant python. Tony "the Tiger", the nickname his fellow contestants gave him early on, used his athletic prowess to win the first challenge on the show; then he used kindness to stay on the show and ultimately win. Stallings went through the Lion's Pit on four separate occasions and came out the victor each time.

The final episode came down to Stallings, Patrick and Bee. Bee was eliminated in the first hour of the show by Tony. Stallings and Patrick then had to go to the Lion's Pit on last time to decide who would be King. This time in the Lion's Pit each contestant had to answer questions about their entire stint in the jungle. Patrick got the first two correct and had a chance to eliminate Stallings, but was unsuccessful. The two then battled back and forth with neither having the chance to eliminate the other. Stallings finally got and an answer correct that Patrick missed and eliminated him on his first chance.

The show was filmed in May so Stallings has had to keep his victory a secret from everyone, which he said was tough at times with people always asking him about the show. Stallings will now star in his own Animal Planet adventure tonight at 8:00 P.M. on Animal Planet. For more information on last night's show and tonight's special visit www.animalplanet.com.
