
Sports split doubleheader with Edinburg

Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
Shreveport and Edinburg split a doubleheader Wednesday at Fair Grounds Field with the Sports taking the opener 7-2, but the Roadrunners won the second game 4-3.
The Sports scored six runs in the second inning of the opener to put the game away as Bert Snow went the distance to pick up his ninth win of the year.
In the second game, after the Sports scored first Edinburg tied the game in the second and went ahead 4-1 with three runs in the fifth. The Sports added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, but came up short in the final game of the series as Shreveport took two of three from Edinburg.
The Sports will open a six-game road trip Thursday at El Paso. Game time will be 8:05. Shreveport will return home for the final three game of the season next Thursday-Saturday at Fair Grounds Field.
