Sporting Kansas City News Release

Sporting Kansas City announced on Friday that three of the team's players will be available for selection in Major League Soccer's 2010 Re-Entry Process, which begins next week. Defender Jimmy Conrad, forward Josh Wolff and defender Aaron Hohlbein will all be eligible for selection in the Stage 1 Draft held Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT via teleconference.

Conrad and Hohlbein are currently out of contract following their tenures with Sporting Kansas City, and will have the option to accept or reject the Bona Fide Offer if selected in Wednesday's Stage 1 Draft. Should either reject the offer, the drafting club will hold a right of first refusal for either player in MLS. A Bona Fide Offer must meet conditions defined by MLS, based on the player's previous contract, age and years played in MLS.

Wolff, if selected, would automatically be added to the drafting club's roster and that club would be required to exercise the option on his existing contract.

If not selected in the Stage 1 Draft, players will have the opportunity to negotiate contracts and sign with their previous clubs through 1 p.m. CT on Monday, December 13th. The Stage 2 Draft will then take place on Wednesday, December 15th at 1 p.m. CT.

Both the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Drafts will be conducted in the same order as the traditional Waiver Draft.

Players also have the right to opt out of the Re-Entry Process and have their rights remain with their current club. More details on Major League Soccer's Re-Entry Process can be found online at MLSsoccer.com .
