Sponsors galloping to women's football team
Published on June 1, 2004 under National Women's Football Association (NWFA) News Release
The Kentucky Karma, one of the more than 40 teams in the National Women's Football Association, will begin its regular season play in 2005. But, that isn't stopping sponsors from geting on board and supporting the team.
World famous horse racing jockey, Pat Day and his wife are sponsoring one of the Karma players. "We think this is really great, especially to see the support coming in from the horse racing industry which has such a huge presence in Louisville. Pat Day is one of the horse racing's biggest stars and to have him support our team is simply fantastic," states Catherine Masters, CEO of the league.
Many other local companies and indivduals have stepped up to support the team including Romans Stables, Just Creations, J&B Magic Shop, Lagrange Service Center, TX Roadhouse, Old World Homes and Victory Home Builders.
The NWFA will host its 4th world championship game on July 31st in Louisville at the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and organizers are expecting a record crowd. "The support we've had from the entire town of Louisville has been outstanding and we are planning on making this one of the best events to ever come to their town," states league VP Debby Lening.
