Windsor Spitfires News Release

The Spitfires held on to an all-important game 4 victory as they tie the series and shift back to Windsor on Sunday evening.

In the first period, the game was eerily similar to Wednesday's game as the Spitfires got out to a 3-0 again. This time was a little different. Johnston got the Spitfires on the board just 21 seconds into the game with assists from Perrott and Henault. 13 minutes later, Cuylle scored his 9th of the post-season on a play beside the net. Late in the period with just 10 seconds left, D'Amico in the slot ripped a backhander top shelf to make it a 3-0 lead, Currie had the lone assist.

In the second period, the Firebirds scored twice on the powerplay and went 2/9 on the night. Spits powerplay was 0/2.

In the third period, it was desperation for both teams as they tried to keep the game in favour of themselves. However, the Spitfires held off the Firebirds and Maggio scored an empty netter to seal the deal at 4-2.

The Spitfires tie the series at 2.

The Spits and Firebirds are back in action on Sunday May 29th at 7:05pm in Windsor.
