
SPHL concludes winter meetings

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League wrapped up the 2007-08 winter meetings today with each team represented along with Commissioner Jim Combs and Director of Hockey Operations Bill Coffey.
The league will move from a 52-game regular season schedule to a 60-game regular season schedule with each team playing 30 home and 30 away games. The season will still be played in 22 weeks.
The league also announced that the Commissioner's Cup given to the regular season champion will be renamed the William B. Coffey Trophy. The trophy is named in honor of current Director of Hockey Operations, Bill Coffey, for all his hard work and dedication in helping put the SPHL together.
