
Special Presale for MLS Cup 2009 Tickets Begins Tomorrow

NEW YORK (Thursday, September 10, 2009) -- Major League Soccer announced today that tickets for MLS Cup 2009 will go on sale to the public in a special one week presale for Visa® cardholders beginning tomorrow, Sept. 11, at 10:00 a.m. ET. This will be the first chance for fans to purchase tickets to Major League Soccer's premier event, MLS Cup. The exclusive presale will run from Sept. 11 to Sept. 18. Beginning Monday, Sept. 21, tickets will be available to the general public, without restrictions.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. ET tomorrow, fans may use their Visa card to purchase tickets during an exclusive presale only available online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are only available while supplies last. Visa is a proud sponsor of Major League Soccer. Beginning Sept. 21, fans may also purchase tickets through all Ticketmaster locations. The 14th MLS championship game, MLS Cup 2009, will be played on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 8:30 p.m. ET at Qwest Field in Seattle, WA. This will mark the first time MLS Cup has been held in the Pacific Northwest and at Qwest Field, home of Seattle Sounders FC. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and TeleFutura.
The previous 13 MLS Cups have attracted nearly 475,000 fans (an average of 36,450 per game) to see MLS' season-ending championship. Last year's game was held at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., home of Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy and drew a sellout crowd of 27,000 to watch the Columbus Crew defeat the New York Red Bulls 3-1.
Ticket prices range from $49-$20, with three different seating options fans can choose from.

MLS Cup 2009 is the 14th annual championship game of Major League Soccer and will match the league's Eastern and Western Conference Champions in a single match finale. The two contending teams will be determined on the weekend of Nov. 14-15. MLS Cup 2009 will include a week's worth of related activities (Nov. 16-22) in the Seattle area.
