South Carolina 111 Gainesville Knights 88

South Carolina travelled to Gainesville on Saturday evening and drubbed the Knights 111-88. The Knights set the pace early, going up 22-15 at the midway point of the first quarter, but South Carolina's guards began "heating up," behind the scoring of Donielle Davis, Scooter Sherrill and Lamar Karim, and took a 55-36 lead into the half. Davis lead the Heat with 21 points, while Sherrill had 18. For Gainesville, Derrick Franklin downed 26 points, while James had 15 and Antoine Whelchel scored 14. South Carolina moved to 2-1 on the season, while Gainesville fell to 1-2. Note: Knights Forward David Johnson had to leave the game in the first quarter wth a broken nose.
