Sounders vs. Chivas USA (MLS) May 7th at Qwest

The Seattle Sounders announced today, goalkeeper Preston Burpo and midfielder Brent Whitfield signed with Chivas USA of Major League Soccer (MLS) for the 2006 season. Burpo, the 2005 USL First Division Championship Game MVP and 2nd Team All-League selection earns his first opportunity with MLS after nine seasons with the Sounders.

As part of the compensation for Burpo and Whitfield, the agreement between the two clubs includes a Chivas USA vs. Sounders exhibition match at Qwest Field on Sunday May 7th at 6pm.

Starting today, tickets are available exclusively to season ticket holders through March 24th by contacting the Sounders office at (206) 622-3415.

On March 27th tickets go on sale to the public.Ticket prices for the May 7th match are $12 general admission and $17 for reserved seats. Groups of 15 or more people receive discounted ticket prices. Tickets will be available by contacting the Seattle Sounders at (206) 622-3415 or online at www.seattlesounders.net.

The Sounders vs. Chivas USA match on May 7th wraps up Cinco de Mayo weekend festivities sponsored by the Washington State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (WSHCC). Featuring a handful of World Cup players, Chivas USA?s 2006 roster features four Mexican National team members Francisco Palencia, Claudio Suarez, Juan Pablo Garcia and legend Ramon Ramirez.
