Sounders Face Whitecaps Without Three Top Scorers

Weaver, O'Brien and Gregor all suspended for Friday

Missing their top three scorers, the Sounders will face the Whitecaps without Forward Cam Weaver and Midfielders Leighton O'Brien and Andrew Gregor due to yellow card accumulation. O'Brien and Gregor wrap up their two-match league imposed suspension (8 cards) while Weaver serves his one match suspension (5 cards) in Vancouver. Gregor, Weaver and O'Brien have combined for 24 goals and 10 assists this season. Learn more about their league suspensions at www.SeattleSounders.net.

Midfielder Sagare Out For Season With Broken Arm

Suffered injury against Charleston last weekend.

Sounder Midfielder Jake Sagare will miss the remainder of the 2006 season with a broken left forearm, an injury he suffered against the Charleston Battery last weekend. In his first start of the 2006 season, Sagare played 29 minutes before leaving the field with a broken arm. Sagare has broken the same arm before, and will undergo surgery on Thursday, September 7th to help aid in repair and proper healing.

Sounders To Be Presented Cascadia Cup Saturday

Emerald City Supporters Present 3rd Annual Cup

The Emerald City Supporters will present Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer with the 3rd Annual Cascadia Cup on September 9th. The Sounders captured the cup with a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps on August 19th. The Cascadia Cup is a head-to-head competition between the Sounders, Whitecaps and Portland Timbers, and is organized by the supporters groups from each club. The Whitecaps have won the two previous awards.
