Sounders release 2006 preseason schedule

The Seattle Sounders have finalized the club?s 2006 Exhibition Schedule. The defending USL First Division Champions play six exhibition matches around the Northwest, including one against USL First Division rival the Vancouver Whitecaps and finish with Major League Soccer?s Chivas USA.

See the return of Goalkeeper Preston Burpo and Midfielder Brent Whitfield in their new Chivas USA red and white. The Sounders vs. Chivas USA friendly is scheduled for Sun. May 7th at Qwest Field, 6pm.

Season ticket holders have exclusive access to Chivas USA tickets through March 24th by contacting the Sounders at (206) 622-3415. Tickets are available to the public starting March 27th. For more information visit www.seattlesounders.net.

Sun. April 2nd Sounders vs. Ethio-Dashen at Starfire Sports Complex (Tukwila, Wash.), 6pm

Fri. April 14th Sounders vs. Vancouver Whitecaps at Exhibition Park (Chilliwack, B.C.), 7pm

Sat. April 29th Sounders vs. Seattle University at Pop Keeney Stadium (Bothell, Wash.), 7pm

Sounders Saints Women vs. SPU Women at 2:30pm

Sun. April 30th Sounders vs. Seattle University at French Field (Kent, Wash.), 5:30pm

Sat. May 6th Sounders vs. San Carlos All-Stars at Mt. Vernon High School (Mt. Vernon, Wash.), 6pm

Sun. May 7th Sounders vs. Chivas USA (MLS) at Qwest Field (Seattle, Wash.), 6pm

The Sounders kick off the 2006 season in Minnesota on April 23rd against the Thunder as they defend their 2005 USL First Division crown. The Sounders Home Opener is May 13th at Qwest Field against the Minnesota Thunder at 7pm.
