This will be your first opportunity to see the Sounders roster come together with players like, two time USL First Division assist leader Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar from the Portland Timbers, Andre Schmid from the New York Red Bull reserve and French trialist Sebastian Le Toux in action alongside returning starters, Kevin Sakuda, Danny Jackson and Roger Levesque.

SOUNDERS ADD FORWARD ANDRE SCHMID TO THE 2007 SCORING ARSENAL

Originally drafted in 2006 by the Houston Dynamo, Schmid spent the second part of last season with the New York Red Bull Reserves playing alongside the likes of teenage phenom, Jose Altidor. The Seattle Sounders announced today the signing of 23 year old former Houston Dynamo and Red Bull New York (both of Major League Soccer) forward Andre Schmid.

"Andre has all the physical tools to make a big impact with the Sounders and potentially MLS," said Sounders Head Coach Brian Schmetzer.

At 6'4" and 200lbs. Schmid will be expected to fill some of the void left in the Sounders offense by the departure of 2006 USL First Division Rookie of the year and co-scoring champion Cam Weaver for FC Haugesund in Norway.
