
Sounders Face Two Matches In Four Days

Seattle Sounders News Release
The defending champion Seattle Sounders wrap up a stretch of three games in seven days this week; taking on the undefeated Rochester Raging Rhinos Wednesday May 17th and then the Toronto Lynx on Saturday May 20th. Kick off for both matches are scheduled for 7pm at Qwest Field. Rochester visits Seattle with the league?s leading scorer, and former Sounders, Greg Howes and Jonathan Bolanos.
Former Sounders Jonathan Bolanos and Greg Howes return to Seattle Wednesday with the Rochester side. Beginning his profesional career with the Sounders, Tacoma native Greg Howes was named Rookie of the Year scoring 17 goals and adding seven assists in 2000. Forward Jonathan Bolanos joined the Sounders during the 2004 season appearing in 14 games. Bolanos recorded five assists and two goals, including one goal in the post season.

O'Brien, Scott Doubtful For Tonight's Match
Sounders Injury Update......
Both veteran Midfielder Leighton O?Brien and Defender Zach Scott suffered injuries during the Minnesota Thunder match last Saturday. Both are doubtful for Wednesday?s match against undefeated Rochester and will be re-evaluated later in the week.
Forward Maykel Galindo continues to recover from a broken nose he suffered against Chivas USA; he will be out for the rest of month hoping to be back for the home and away series with Portland in early June. Rookie Midfielder Santa Maria Rivera remains on the injured list with a strained hamstring, he could be back as early as Saturday for the match versus Toronto. Out with a sprained ankle, Midfielder Jake Sagare is expected to return for the home and away series with Vancouver on May 26th and 27th.
Sounders End Home Opener In Dramatic 1-1 Draw
Lake Goal by rookie Cam Weaver Ties Match!
The Sounders celebrated their home opener last Saturday with the unveiling of the 2005 USL Championship banner and a 1-1 draw with the Minnesota Thunder. A record setting crowd of 8,966 fans watched as rookie Forward Cam Weaver on his first touch of the game headed the ball into the net, securing a 1-1 draw for the Sounders in the 77th minute. Weaver was selected as the ECS / Kells Man of the Match.
After suffering a knee injury last season, Veteran Defender Danny Jackson returned to the field last Saturday night for his first USL First Division match in over 15 months. Making his professional debut, Sounders GK Chris Eylander made six saves and allowed only one Minnesota goal.
