Sounders Face Timbers Friday at Qwest Field

The defending USL First Division Champion Seattle Sounders face I-5 south rival, the Portland Timbers in a home-and-home series this weekend. The Sounders host the Timbers at Qwest Field on Friday, June 2nd at 7pm. In the second match of the series, the Sounders travel south on Saturday, June 3rd. The Sounders are 2-0-1 over their last three matches.

After a slow 1-2-1 start, the Sounders have gone 2-0-1 over their last three matches to quickly jump into a three way tie for fourth place in the USL First Division with eight points. The Sounders have out-scored opponents 5-2 in the last three matches while the defense has posted two shutouts. Read more about the Sounders match up against the Portland Timbers.

Weaver & Gregor Named to Team of the Week

Sounder Forward Cam Weaver and Midfielder Andrew Gregor were selected to the USL First Division Team of the Week, Week 6 for their performances in a home and home series against the Whitecaps last weekend. Weaver delivered two goals against the Whitecaps in game one in Vancouver, helping the Sounders secure a 2-2 draw. The following night, Weaver set up a Gregor penalty kick after he was tripped in the box by Whitecaps' keeper Tony Caig. Gregor scored his first goal of season, giving the Sounders a 1-0 victory. Sounders battle Mexican Powerhouse, Club America

Saturday, July 8th at Qwest Field, 6pm

The Sounders square-off with Club America, one of Mexico's most historic clubs on July 8th at Qwest Field. Club America has won the Mexican league championship 10 times and features three current Mexican National Team players heading to the 2006 World Cup - Franciso Guillermo Ochoa, Jose Antonio Castro, and Pavel Pardo. America's roster also includes multiple former Mexican, Argentinean, and Chilean National Team players.
