Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul and Adopt-A-Pig Foundation are proud to be teaming up to raise money for local children who are fighting cancer and their families at the Soul's game this Saturday, March 29. Proceeds benefit an array of support services for patients and their families.

When the Soul take on the Tampa Bay Storm, Adopt-a-Pig will be there collecting spare change. Prior to kick-off, the Soul will be hosting a Pig Painting Party for local children, all of whom are battling cancer. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. children will be joined by Soulman and various Soulmates as they get their pigs ready for collecting. The children will also be treated to a behind the scenes tour of the arena and will be joined by other special guest celebrities.

In addition, one child will be chosen as honorary quarterback before the game and will see playing time with the prolific duo of Tony Graziani and Chris Jackson on the field during pre-game warm-ups.

The Soul are asking all fans to bring their spare change to be donated. The Philadelphia Soul is donating $5 from each ticket sold to The Adopt a Pig Foundation.

The mission and goals of the Adopt-A-Pig program are simple: to provide coping mechanisms to children fighting cancer and their families. The founders of this program experienced these cancer treatments firsthand and understand it is neither a simple nor short process. By providing support to children and families, they hope to ease some of the struggles and pains associated with this emotional and physical battle. For more information go to www.AdoptAPig.org.

The Soul are celebrating their fifth anniversary this season. The team has drawn an AFL-best 514,226 fans combined during the past four years. Following this season, the Soul were recognized with the Commissioner's Award as the Organization of the Year and were an honorable mention for the PRISM Award in the category of fan appreciation. Season tickets for the Soul's 2008 season are on sale now. Tickets start as low as $90 for a nine-game plan including a postseason home game.
