Soul Sports Medicine Program; Equipment Manager Recognized

PHILADELPHIA - The Back-to-Back American Conference Champion Philadelphia Soul have been awarded the Sports Medicine Program of the Year and the Equipment Manager of the Year awards by the AFL. The sports medicine program was led by Head athletic trainer, Lemar Mosley; and team physicians Dr. David Rubenstein and Dr. Demetri Menegos. The equipment manager was Brandon Mango.
"I have had the honor of working with this group for the past three seasons and they are unquestionably the best in the business," said Soul general manager Tom Goodhines. "Dr. Rubenstein and Dr. Menegos are first class in everything they do, while Lemar is one of the most dedicated professionals I have come across. Brandon learned from one of the best and I am excited to see him carry on the tradition and get recognized for his efforts. As a whole, we are proud to have them all represent our organization."
Mosley is entering his fifth season with the Soul. He spent 2007-08 as a certified athletic training intern, while spending 2011-13 as the head athletic trainer. His other experience includes being an athletic training intern for the Indianapolis Colts (2007), athletic training assistant for the Cincinnati Bengals (2008-09) and the head athletic trainer for the Chicago Rush (2010).
Dr. Rubenstein, the Director of Sports Medicine at Lankenau Medical Center, has been with the Soul since the beginning of the franchise in 2004. Rubenstein is also the Associate Director of Sports Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University and the team orthopedic surgeon of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Dr. Menegos, of Lankenau Medical Center, enters his second season as the Soul's head Team Sports Medicine Physician. Dr. Menegos also has experience at the collegiate level of sports medicine, as a physician for Seton Hall, Princeton, University of Penn, and Kean University.
Mango, a local from Glassboro, NJ, has been with the franchise for three seasons. In the 2011 and 2012 seasons, he served as a football operations intern for the Soul under Ryan McGorry. This season, Mango is in his first year as the Equipment Manager for Philadelphia. Additionally, Mango served as an Equipment Assistant for the Dallas Cowboys during the 2012 season.
