Philadelphia Soul News Release
WHAT'S UP TODAY Practice was held outside today thanks to the cooperative weather. Players enjoyed the weather but kept their focus in the intense practice atmosphere, as they were in pads today for two hours. The team had meetings in the morning before practice, but the coaching staff rewarded the good practice with the afternoon off. With all the coaches and players focused on the task at hand, WR Larry Brackins found a way to lighten the mood. Brackins caught a pass across the middle of the field and turned it into a lengthy touchdown. After scoring, Brackins celebrated by yelling, "Feed me, feed me," expressing his excitement for catching the TD pass, practice and the upcoming game. Some players, like WR Chris Jackson, took advantage of the off time in the afternoon by playing golf.
MABRY INVITES A SPECIAL GUEST TO PRACTICE
Later in practice the Soul had a special guest. Buddy Kells, the winner of the Target/Children's Miracle Network Shopping Spree, stopped by to hang out with his pals Matt D'Orazio and Mike Mabry. Mabry invited Buddy, 10, and his family to practice. Buddy, D'Orazio and Mabry tossed the football around after practice and the two players brought the family back to the practice facility for a tour and lunch with the rest of the team.
HE SAID IT Soul QB Matt D'Orazio on knowing his opponent, the New York Dragons and what he expects out of them Saturday: "Just playing them in the last game of the season, we know them really well and we know they're going to come out and fight so we know we're going to have our hands full."
