Soul Hold Town Takeover in Edgewater Park Thursday

PHILADELPHIA (June 9, 2014) - The Philadelphia Soul, presented by Parx Casino, will host a "Town Takeover" in Edgewater Park on Thursday, June 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The Town Takeover, presented by Walgreens, will take place at 400 Delano Road Edgewater Park, NJ 08010 and will feature a "walk-through" practice before their Zumba Night at the Soul against the Pittsburgh Power on Saturday, June 14 at 6 p.m.
During the practice, kids will be asked to participate by "running plays" with the Soul team. This will be the team's last practice before the Soul (6-6) host the Pittsburgh Power (9-3) at the Wells Fargo Center.
"We are looking forward to going to Edegewater Park and meeting with such a supportive community this year," said John Adams, VP/COO of the Soul. "Our Town Takeover is the perfect opportunity for young fans to come out and meet the players before Zumba Night on June 14 th ."
The event will include a martial arts performance by Team Torres. Other festivities will include face painting, balloon artists, food, drinks, and live musical entertainment both before and after the practice. In addition to Soul players and coaches, there will be appearances by the Soul mascot, SoulMan, the Soulmates dance team, Soul ownership, and front office staff. After the practice, fans will be able to meet Soul players and Soulmates who will be signing autographs. The Edgewater Park Athletic Association will also be selling tickets for their flag football game on June 14 th throughout the night.
The next Soul game will be held against the Pittsburgh Power. It will be themed, "Zumba Night," with families and fans being able to join ZES Stephanie Masceri and many other Zumba instructors for a pre-game Zumba Master Class. Kick-off will be at 6 p.m. and class registration will start at 2:30 p.m., with the class beginning at 3:30 p.m.
