Soul Hold Practice in Manayunk

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul, presented by Parx Casino, will host a "Town Takeover" of Roxborough and Manayunk on Friday, May 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Town Takeover, presented by Walgreens, will take place on the grounds of Northern Children's Services, with the entrance on Righter Street, and will feature a "run-through" practice by the Philadelphia Soul.
The event will be free to the public. During the practice, kids will be asked to participate by "running plays" with the Soul team. This will be the team's last practice before the Soul (4-4) host the Arizona Rattlers (8-1) on Saturday, June 1, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. at the NovaCare Field at the Wells Fargo Center.
"Our âTown Takeover' in Evesham Township was a huge success, and we're excited to bring it to Manayunk and Roxborough," said Soul Co-Majority Owner Ron Jaworski. "We again would like to thank Northern Children's Services for allowing us to host this event and Walgreens for sponsoring the event. We would like to see all Soul fans come out and enjoy this opportunity to hang out with the team and have fun."
The event will include live musical entertainment both before and after the practice. Additionally, there will be face painters and balloon artists, food, drinks and more. In addition to Soul players and coaches, there will be appearances by the Soul mascot, SoulMan, the Soulmates dance team, Soul ownership and front office staff. After the practice, fans will be able to meet Soul players and Soulmates who will be signing autographs.
"This is going to be an exciting night for Northern Children's Services and our Roxborough neighbors," explained Northern Children's President and CEO Tracey Lavallias. "We have enjoyed a long history of support and partnership with the Philadelphia Soul and are excited to have them in our backyard. We're looking forward to a great evening."
At the Town Takeover, the players will wear co-branded Soul and Northern Children's Services jerseys, in which the organization's logo will be donned on the jersey. The jerseys will then be auctioned off at the following Soul game against the Arizona Rattlers on June 1. All proceeds from the auction will go towards Northern Children's Services.
The next day's Soul game will be themed, "Manayunk and Roxborough Night at the Soul," along with "Daddy Daughter Night," which will feature the "RoShon Fegan and Caroline Sunshine Concert Jam" following the Soul game. The concert will be free to ticketholders and additional VIP packages are available for purchase.
