
Soul Hold Off Wranglers, Win 76-66

AUSTIN, TX - Philadelphia Soul defensive lineman Dwayne Missouri knocked the ball loose from Dane Krager's hands late in the fourth quarter and helped secure a 76-66 victory over the Austin Wranglers at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. The Soul improved their record to 6-6 and dropped the Wranglers to 3-9.
Philadelphia began the game scoring a franchise best 24 points in the first quarter and were led by the play of the Tony Graziani who connected earlier on 5-of-8 passes for 105 yards with three touchdowns. As Graziani continued to show his excellent play in the second quarter, he helped the Soul score on their first eight possessions in the half to go into the locker room up 47-42.
The Philadelphia offense spread the ball around with contributions from J.J. McKelvey, Charles Pauley, Larry Brackins and Jerrian James through the air. On the ground, Wes Ours rushed for a score and Todd France punched in two field goals to miss a franchise record of 48 first half points set in 2005 against the Tampa Bay Storm.
In the second half, the Soul and Wranglers exchanged scores until the start of the third quarter with 12:30 remaining when Philadelphia's Idris Price lost the football on their own 1-yard line. Austin took advantage and took their first lead of the game after Lang Campbell found Derrik Lewis on an 8-yard touchdown to go ahead 49-47.
The Soul took control late in the game as Graziani found both McKelvey and James on consecutive drives to seal the win for Philadelphia.
Graziani finished the contest completing 21-of-30 for 284 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions.
Ours did his part on the ground and rushed for a person-best 54 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns.
