PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul have signed DL's Gabe Nyenhuis and Keith Wright. As per club policy, terms of their deals were not disclosed.
Nyenhuis (6'3", 269, Colorado) joins the Soul after spending the past three seasons in the NFL between the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons. During that time, he was on the practice squad three separate times. Prior to entering the NFL, Nyenhuis played for the Colorado Buffalos. He saw action in 25 games while recording 85 total tackles with eight sacks for minus-66 yards, 24 stops for losses of 108 yards, 24 quarterback pressures, a fumble recovery, two forced fumbles, 10 pass deflections and 10 third down stops.
Wright (6'2", 290, Missouri) enters the Arena Football League with the Soul after spending four seasons in the NFL and one in NFL Europe. He began his NFL career in 2003 when he was drafted by the Houston Texans before joining the Indianapolis Colts practice squad to finish out the year. He later played on the practice squads for both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. While in college at Missouri, he started in all 23 games he appeared in and recorded 160 total tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
