Soul And Probuild Host Charity Drive For School Devastated By Hurricane Katrina

PHILADELPHIA - On Monday, May 21, as the Philadelphia Soul take on the New Orleans VooDoo, the Soul and ProBuild will be hosting a charity drive to support the Bel-Aire Elementary School in Gulfport, Miss., which was ruined by Hurricane Katrina. They will be collecting all types of new or barely used gym equipment such as footballs, basketballs, gloves, Frisbees, jump ropes, or kick balls for the school.

Those who wish to donate can drop off any type of gym equipment at one of two collecting stations located at the Broad Street and 11th Street entrances inside the Wachovia Arena. Items will be collected when doors open at 6:30 p.m. until the end of the first quarter.

Bel-Aire Elementary School, built in 1975, serves students between kindergarten and sixth grade in the Orange Grove community of Mississippi. The school suffered major damage from Hurricane Katrina, but was reconstructed and now has more than 700 students.
