Soo Eagles Sending Players to the Next Level

The North American Hockey League brands itself as the league of opportunity. "As we continue to provide more opportunity for players to train, develop and play NAHL hockey we see the level of play increase every day for our student-athletes," said NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld. ""The fact that the vast majority of players come into the league without an NCAA opportunity, but then earn one while playing in the NAHL, is the most gratifying part of it for us. Our commitment numbers continue to increase annually and prove that the NAHL is one of the best at developing its players and ultimately providing an opportunity to move onto the next level."
You don't have to look any further for that, than the Soo Eagles, who had nine of their players receive college commitments during the 2012-13 season. Here is a list of players from last season who received commitment from colleges and universities across the country.

Nathan Harris - Lake Superior State University (WCHA, D1)
Michael Lant - University of Wisconsin-River Falls (NCHA, D3)
Tyler Marble - Colorado College (NCHC, D1)
Denver Pierce - Northern Michigan University (WCHA, D1)
Alexander Taulien - Elmira (ECAC West, D3)
Jared VanWormer - Ferris State University (WCHA, D1)
Chris Waterstreet - SUNY- Oswego (SUNYAC, D3)

The Soo Eagles mission continues to be developing a tradition of academic growth, athletic skills, leadership, self-esteem, self-discipline, integrity, teamwork and sportsmanship. They also want to help promote players to the next level, as well as, having the players involved in the community of Sault Ste. Marie in many projects.
