Jared VanWormer finished with one point to lead the Soo Eagles to a 6-2 victory over the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings.

Soo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Kalamazoo power plays. The Eagles bested their season scoring average. This season, Soo averages 3.1 goals per contest. The Eagles' offense was clicking better than usual and put 47 shots on goal during the game, better than the 29.1 shots per game they average.

Soo additionally got points from Brandon Adams, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Eric Rivard, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Soo included Michael Covach, who had one and Kyle Loridon, who had two. More assists for Soo came via Cody Von Reuden, who had two and Sean Murphy and Alexander Taulien, who each chipped in one.

Kalamazoo put 29 shots on net during the contest, more than the 26.2 it averages per game.

The Jr. K-Wings were helped by Robbie Payne, who tallied one goal and one assist. Payne scored 43 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-2. Kyle Gattelaro provided the assist. Kalamazoo also got points from Taylor Burden, who also registered one goal and one assist.

Tyler Marble recorded 27 saves for Soo. The Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kalamazoo's Alex Okicki stopped 41 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Jr. K-Wings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
