
Sonie Earns Defensive Player of the Week Honors

ORLANDO - Orlando Predators defensive back Varmah Sonie earned Riddell Defensive Player of Week 4 honors for his performance in the team's 43-40 victory over the LA KISS.
Sonie (5-8, 175, Northern Iowa) put forth a game-changing effort, posting 4.5 total tackles with two interceptions. His first pick came during the third series of the game and allowed Orlando to take its first lead of the night. Later in the second quarter, Sonie made a leaping one-handed interception in the end zone to prevent another score and preserve a 22-21 halftime lead for Orlando.
Sonie now has four interceptions on the year and is tied for the lead in the AFL. He also ranks second with 29.0 total tackles on the season.
Orlando travels in Week 5 to take on the Cleveland Gladiators on Friday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The game can be viewed live on ESPN3/Watch ESPN.
