(LANCASTER, CA) - Lake Elsinore's Ali Solis ripped a two-run double in the sixth inning and a tw0-run homer in the eighth to lead the Storm to a 7-3 victory over Lancaster in the opener of a three-game series at Clear Channel Stadium Tuesday.

The JetHawks grabbed an early lead off Storm starter Anthony Bass in the bottom of the first. Jay Austin doubled to lead off the frame and Brian Pellegrini delivered an RBI single to put Lancaster in front 1-0.

Three innings later, the Storm evened the score at 1-1. Vince Belnome hit an RBI double off JetHawks starter Kyle Greenwalt that scored Cole Figueroa.

The Storm took control of the contest in the top of the sixth. After Greenwalt issued a one-out walk to Belnome, Rymer Liriano hit a fly ball to center field that glanced off Austin's glove for an error. Jesus Lopez delivered an RBI single and Solis smacked a two-run double to give Lake Elsinore a 4-1 lead.

Trailing 5-1 in the seventh, the JetHawks drew closer when Jose Altuve laced a two-run double into the right field gap, which made it a 5-3 ballgame.

But Solis belted a two-run homer off JetHawks reliever Brian Wabick in the top of the eighth to seal the victory.

Bass (8-7) earned the win for Lake Elsinore. Greenwalt (8-7) was the tough-luck loser for Lancaster, allowing four runs, only one of which was earned, in six innings of work.

With the win, Lake Elsinore improved to 32-32 in the second half and 77-56 overall. The loss dropped the JetHawks to 30-34 in the second half and 53-81 overall. The JetHawks are now in fourth place in the California League Southern Division 2nd Half standings, five games behind first place Rancho Cucamonga.

Lancaster will take on Lake Elsinore at Clear Channel Stadium Wednesday night. Lefty Patrick Urckfitz (5-9, 4.13) gets the start for the JetHawks.
