Game 2 between the visiting Kankakee Soldiers and the 2010 IBL Champions Albany Legends started out pretty much like last night with the Legends taking a 7-0 lead within the first 3 minutes. Damone Morris had all 7 points shooting a 3 and two 2's. The Legends would then finish the opening run at 11-5 before the Soldiers would come storming back behind a Ryan Edwards Deep 3 and a deep 2. The Legends would hold a 33-30 lead at the end of the quarter. Edwards finish with 14 and Morris with 7. The Second quarter started out once again in the Legends favor as they shot out to a 53-47 advantage. The fiesty Soldiers just would not go away. Forcing Albany to call a timeout with 3:39 to go seemed to spark the Soldiers even more as Zach Ramey nailed a 3 right off the rip. The Legends would respond would a 9-4 run to end the half 61-54 Legends. Lloyd Johnson came out of the break on fire scoring 16 of his 27 points in the 3rd. Billy Baptist would answer hitting 3 big jump shots one from beyond the arc and going 5-6 from the line to give the Soldiers their first lead a 87-86 edge. The fourth quarter saw Ryan Edwards take over nailing 12 points over a three minute span. To help the now 1-1 Kankakee Soldiers edge out the 1-1 Albany legends 121-118. DeAndre Thomas led all scorers with 33 and Ryan Edwards had 32 for the Soldiers.
The Rubber match between these two teams will be Sunday night April 17th. A 6 O'Clock tip off.
