
Soccer Legend Comes to Rochester

(Rochester, NY) - The World Cup of Indoor Soccer will be making its way to the Blue Cross Arena Monday for one of many games of the international tournament hosted by the USA. Rochester will host world soccer superpower Brazil as they face Russia that evening at 7pm. Team Brazil will be bringing with them one of the most successful indoor players of all time, Tatu.
Tatu, a native of Brazil, will be the Head Coach of the highly touted Brazilian squad. At 53 years old, he holds one of the most accomplished indoor careers of all time. After arriving in the US in 1981, he scored a hat trick in his first game with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Since that day, he went on to play more than 630 pro indoor games, won five indoor championships, and scored more than 850 career indoor goals.
Known for his flamboyant goal celebrations and throwing his jersey into the crowd, he quickly became an indoor soccer legend. His legacy includes: second all-time in goal scoring, second most seasons played (23), second in total points (1585), second in shots (4,396), second in game winning goals (77), and first in power play goals (113).
He is a member of the Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame and currently coaches the Dallas Sidekicks, where he spent most of his playing career.
