FIRE EEKS BY: Thanks to the leg of kicker Danny Kight the Fire was able to pull out a 48 â 45 victory over South Georgia on Friday night. The night was highlighted by a Tony Stallings' 56-yard kick-off return for a touchdown. Stallings also set-up the game winning field-goal with a 29 yard kick return. Defensive specialist Rob Green also turned in a solid effort with 7.5 tackles and three pass break-ups. The victory gives the Fire their second straight 2 â 0 start.
SECOND HALF DEFENSE STRONG: After giving up 25 points in the second quarter the Fire defense once again made a huge impact in the second half by shutting South Georgia out in the third quarter. So far this season the Fire is being outscored 61 â 53 in the first half, but in the second half the Fire is outscoring their opponents 51 â 27.

BATTLE FOR FIRST: The Fire will now travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA to face the Pioneers on Friday night at 7:00 P.M. Last season the teams split a home and home with each team winning in their building. Wilkes-Barre won 59 â 51 on May 1 in the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. The Fire came back with a 48 â 47 victory in Freedom Hall when Anthony Payton caught the game tying touchdown off the net while laying on his back. Updated East Division standings are listed below:

8:30 â 10:00 P.M. â Team meal at Masterson's on Third St. and Cardinal Blvd.
Wednesday April 20:
6:00-8:00 P.M. Practice at Freedom Hall
8:30 â 10:00 P.M. â Team meal at Royal Garden Buffet on Preston Highway
Midnight: Team departs Freedom Hall for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Thursday April 21: Game preparations in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Friday April 22:
7:00 P.M. Fire @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at Wachovia Arena. Game can be heard on 108-WKJK.
