Bellingham Slam News Release

BELLIGHAM, Wash. - Brandon Hartley's first career triple-double helped guide the Slam to a new team record for most points in a single game, a 174-129 thrashing of the Las Vegas Stars in International Basketball League action at Whatcom Pavilion on Friday. The 174 points scored eclipsed the Slam's previous single-game high of 165 points set during the 2006-07 ABA season.

Hartley completed his triple-double with 13 points, ten rebounds and ten assists. Hartley is the second Slam player to record a triple-double this season, as Ryan Diggs recorded one on April 11 against Portland.

The Slam took advantage of a grueling road schedule for Las Vegas, which had them playing eight games in nine days. The two teams played evenly for the first six minutes of the game before the Slam began to pull away. Bellingham led 46-31 after the first quarter and continued to pour it on in the second quarter, and led 95-58 at halftime.

With the team's reserves in for much of the second half, the Slam maxed their lead at 50 at the start of the fourth quarter on a Chris Ferguson three-pointer from the corner, to put the score at 136-86. Ferguson ended the game with 20 points, 17 of which came in the final frame.

Las Vegas came into the game as one of the hottest team in the IBL, winning nine of their last ten games. The Slam continued their hot streak, winning their eleventh consecutive game.

Tyler Amaya scored 32 points to lead nine Slam players in double figures. Paul Hafford chipped in 21 points on 7-for-10 shooting from outside, and Kyle Dalvit set a new career high with 18 points.

Keena Payton led six Las Vegas players in double figures with 29 points. Mike Tabb contributed a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

The Slam hit the road for their next three games, with the first coming up on June 8 at Tacoma.
