The Bellingham Slam led from start to finish, as they routed the Oregon Waves, 125-86, in an International Basketball League contest at Whatcom Pavilion on Sunday.

The Slam started the game off with a bang, as Ken Ottrix threw down a vicious dunk on a pass from Morris Anderson on the Slam's second possession. They didn't look back after that, as they cruised to a 22-point lead by the end of the quarter, at 37-15.

Oregon was able to stop the bleeding in the second quarter but couldn't erase the deficit as Bellingham outscored them by a point for a 60-37 halftime lead.

The Slam began to pile on in the third quarter, as they used separate runs of 14-2 and 13-1 to go up by 45, at 96-51.

Brandon Hartley and Derrick Webb scored 13 of the fourth quarter's first 15 points to max out their lead at 56 points, at 109-53. With the Slam's reserves in the rest of the way, the Waves were able trim the deficit by 17, but didn't do much to make the outcome any more respectable for the visitors. Zach Bruce punctuated the victory with a thunderous alley-oop dunk from Webb as the game drew to a close.

The loss kept the Waves winless on a two-game road trip to British Columbia and Bellingham that saw them get outscored by a combined 99 points.

Jared Stevenson led seven Slam players in double figures with 21 points. Jacob Stevenson had 20, while Derrick Webb finished with a season-high 18 points.

Jonathan Bruce scored 16 points for Oregon, who shot just 29.6 percent from the field as a team.

The Slam have one final home game on June 25 against the Tacoma Tide before the IBL postseason begins on July 1. Tip-off for Friday's regular season finale is set for 7 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion.
