IBL Season Winds Down

Published on June 21, 2010 under International Basketball League (IBL) News Release

The IBL Tournament will be held in Portland, Oregon on July 1, 2 and 3rd- at Warner Pacific College. There are eight teams that seem to have an almost equal chance at winning the championship: Edmonton Energy, BC Titans, Bellingham Slam, Olympia Reign, Vancouver Volcanoes, Albany Legends, L.A. Lightning and yes- the Battle Creek Knights (despite their record, coach Terrance Dickens is still recruiting three veteran players that he believes will put the team over the top and both years that Dickens took a team to the IBL finals- his teams were the 5 seed.

Outsiders with a chance of an upset would be- the Tacoma Tide as this is the same team that was a serious contender a year ago. Also, the Oregon Waves (an IBL Championship series finalist last year) and the Yamhill Highflyers (an incredibly skilled group of players with moments/games where they really peak and play like the best team in the league). Probably the most exciting first round game will be whatever game involves the Highflyers.

The IBL heads into the final weekend of play- in its 6th year.
