Skylar Diggins Passes 1,000 Career Point Milestone

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa Shock starter Skylar Diggins passed the 1,000th-career-point mark in last night's home game against the Seattle Storm.

Diggins reached the career milestone on two free throws at 2:28 of the third quarter, her 10th and 11th points in the game, and points 1,000 and 1,001 for her career. Those were also her last two points of the game.

The 5-8 guard in her third season out of Notre Dame reached the career milestone in her 69th game played for the Shock, having played in all 34 games in last season, playing in 32 games in her rookie season of 2013, and in three regular season games this season, including tonight.

Diggins scored 272 points in her rookie campaign and scored 683 last season on her way to being named the 2014 WNBA Most Improved Player of the year, while finishing ranked second in the league in per-game scoring average with 20.1 ppg, trailing only league MVP Maya Moore (23.9). Through the first two games this season Diggins scored a total of 35 points.
