Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (30-18, 194.0, 4.04) hosts the Albany Patroons (20-28, 149.0, 3.10) tonight at 7:05 pm at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Season Series
The Sioux Falls Skyforce went 3-1 against the Albany Patroons in the regular season, winning both games at home and splitting a pair of games at the Washington Avenue Armory. The last times these two teams met was on December 20th as the âForce won 101-87 (6, 1) at Albany. The two teams met twice in Sioux Falls back on December 8th and 9th with the âForce winning 118-104 (6, 1) and 100-96 (5, 2) in overtime. Joe Dabbert is actually the only current Skyforce player that has played against the Patroons this season.
Going for Three
The Sioux Falls Skyforce and Albany Patroons are both hoping to win their third CBA Championships this postseason. The Skyforce won championships in 1996 and 2005 while the Patroons won their championships in 1984 and 1988. The Gary Steelheads, Idaho Stampede, and Rockford Lightning (the franchise did win a championship back in 1982 when they were known as the Lancaster Lightning) are seeking their first CBA Titles while the Yakama Sun Kings have already won three CBA Championships (1995, 2000, and 2003).
Newcomer of the Year
The Continental Basketball Association announced yesterday that Albany Patroons forward James Thomas has been named the CBA Newcomer of the Year for the 2005-06 season, as voted on by the eight CBA head coaches. Thomas garnered five of the possible eight first-place votes from the coaches, finishing with 25 total points. The 6-foot-8 forward has registered 17 double-doubles this season, averaging 19.6 points and 14.6 rebounds on the year. Gary. Gary's Randy Holcomb garnered two first-place votes and finished second in the voting for the 2006 Newcomer of the Year with 17 total points. Sioux Falls' Corey Williams recorded one first-place vote and was third with 11 total points. Williams is currently averaging 14.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and a league-leading 9.8 assists per game in 27 games (25 starts).
