
Sky Blue FC Trades Shaner to Sol for Draft Pick

SOMERSET, N.J. (June 30, 2009) - Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer announced today it has traded defender Christie Shaner to the Los Angeles Sol in return for the Sol's third round draft pick in 2010.
Shaner was Sky Blue FC's fourth round pick (25th overall) in the 2009 WPS Draft. She played in two matches for Sky Blue FC - May 10 against the Chicago Red Stars and May 23 against the Washington Freedom for a total of 40 minutes.
This marks the second trade for Sky Blue FC in the past week. On Friday, Sky Blue FC obtained two-time MAC Hermann Trophy winner Kerri Hanks, Francielle and the rights to Renata Costa from Saint Louis Athletica.
Sky Blue FC takes on the Boston Breakers this Saturday at 4 p.m. ET at Yurcak Field. The match will honor members of the United States Women's National Team that captured the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup championship.
