Sky Blue FC News Release

Harrison, NJ - Sky Blue FC has signed defender Caprice Dydasco to a new contract for the 2021 National Women's Soccer League season. The terms of the deal include a one-year contract with a second-year Club option.

"I am grateful and excited for another opportunity to play for a club that is continuing to push boundaries and compete each year," said Dydasco. "This year, I am looking forward to getting fully healthy, playing, and growing on and off the pitch. This is a special group, and I cannot wait to contribute to the team's success."

"We are excited to have Caprice back on the pitch this spring after unfortunately missing last season due to injury," said Head Coach Freya Coombe. "She is coming back even stronger with a hunger and desire to compete every single day and drive herself and the team forward."

Dydasco, 28, joined Sky Blue in 2019 and started all but one match in her first season with the Club. During the 2019 season, Dydasco played and started in 23 matches for a total of 2,028 minutes. She completed over 800 of her passes for a 76% success rate while recording 42 clearances and 38 interceptions on the backline. Unfortunately, Dydasco suffered a torn ACL during preparations for the 2020 season and sat out the year rehabbing.

"Capy was really shining when she came into preseason last year, so the knee injury was unfortunate timing," said General Manager Alyse LaHue. "We have seen how hard she has worked to come back from this, so we are excited to see her pick up where she left off."

Sky Blue FC will begin the 2021 pre-season on February 1, with the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup set to kick-off mid-April. The team is preparing for a 24-match season in 2021, beginning in mid-May.
