Chicago, Ill. - Sky Blue FChave selected eight players in the 2019 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft including: Hailie Mace, Julia Ashley, Paige Monaghan, Julie James, Kyra Carusa, Kaylan Marckese, Kenie Wright and Sabrina Flores.

Mace, 21, scored 24 goals and recorded 12 assists in 79 appearances while at the University of California, Los Angeles.

As a Bruin, Mace was recognized as an All-American, a member of the PAC-12 first team, as well as a semifinalist for the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Award. In addition to her college experience, Mace has made three appearances for the U.S. WNT.

Ashley, 22, tallied eight goals and 20 assists in 94 appearances during her four years at the University of North Carolina. As a senior, Ashley captained the Tar Heels to the 2018 NCAA College Cup Final.

For her on-field contributions as a defender, Ashley was placed on the watch list for the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy and was recognized as a finalist for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award. She is currently a member of the U-23 U.S. WNT.

Monaghan, 22, recorded 22 goals and 19 assists in 80 appearances at Georgetown University.

At Georgetown, Monaghan was named to the 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy Watchlist. In 2017 she was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and has made appearances on the All-BIG EAST first team in both 2018 and 2017. In addition, she is a current member of the U-23 U.S. WNT.

James, 22, scored 20 goals and recorded 13 assists in 88 appearances while at Baylor University.

This past year James was named a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist as well as an All-American.

Carusa, 23, scored 35 goals and recorded 33 assists in 94 appearances throughout her college career. Carusa spent her first four years at Stanford University, but sat out her senior year due to injury. This past year Carusa completed her eligibility at Georgetown University.

During those five years, Carusa was named to the All-PAC-12 second team three times. She has also made appearances for the U-23 U.S. WNT.

Marckese, 20, made 75 appearances at the University of Florida, racking up 250 saves and 28 clean sheets.

For the past two years Marckese has been named to the SEC All-Tournament Team.

Wright, 21, scored 2 goals and assisted on 13 others in 88 appearances at Rutgers University.

While at Rutgers, Wright was recognized as a member of the 2018 Second Team All-Big Ten.

Flores, 22, scored five goals and tallied 18 assists in 82 appearances while at the University of Notre Dame. During her four years with the Fighting Irish, Flores appeared in every single competition.

As a freshman at Notre Dame Flores received nominations to the ACC All-Freshman Team and Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Freshmen Second Team.
