Piscataway, N.J. - Sky Blue FC (0-1-0, 0 points) will play its 2018 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) home opener on Sunday, hosting Seattle Reign FC (1-0-0, 3 points) at Yurcak Field for a 5 p.m. kickoff. Tickets for the match are available now online or by calling 888-SBFC-TIX (888-723-2849).

"Playing in the home opener and in front of your home crowd is always exciting," said Denise Reddy, Sky Blue FC head coach. "With the help of Cloud 9 and the rest of our supporters, we can make Yurcak Field a place where it is tough to play, and that is the goal. For me personally, it is extra special to have my family and friends able to attend all of our home matches."

Sunday marks the NWSL home debut for Reddy as Sky Blue FC head coach, with the New Jersey native returning to the organization she helped start as a USL W-League franchise in 2007. The game will also be a homecoming for two-time FIFA Player of the Year Carli Lloyd, who was acquired by Sky Blue FC this past offseason.

This Sunday marks the first meeting of the 2018 campaign between Sky Blue FC and Seattle Reign FC. Sky Blue FC heads into the match-up after a heartbreaking defeat to the North Carolina Courage two weekends ago. The two teams battled in a hard-fought contest that was still scoreless when it entered the 92nd minute of play. It was then that Jaelene Hinkle found Jessica McDonald for what would become the game-winner in stoppage time.

Seattle had a bye before the FIFA break last weekend and will also be playing its second match-up of the regular season on Sunday. In its season opener, the team hosted the Washington Spirit at Memorial Stadium and won that meeting, 2-1. Megan Rapinoe struck first in the 7th minute before she set-up Jodie Taylor in the 35th minute to make it a two-goal advantage. Joanna Lohman did eventually put Washington on the board in the 68th minute, but the 2-1 tally would remain when the final whistle was blown.

Historically, Sky Blue FC leads the all-time series between these two clubs, owning an accumulative 6-3-3 record. Sky Blue FC is also unbeaten against Seattle at Yurcak Field, holding a 5-0-2 edge.

2018 Sky Blue FC season, half-season and individual game tickets are all on sale now, and fans can purchase tickets by calling 888-SBFC-TIX (888-723-2849). For all of the latest news on Sky Blue FC, visit the team online and follow us on social media: @SkyBlueFC.
