Sky Blue FC News Release
Morristown, N.J. (Wednesday, March 25, 2015) - Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) continues its 2015 Preview Series Presented by Meridian Health on Wednesday night, traveling west to play Penn State University at the In the Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. Kickoff for the match is slated for 8:00 p.m.
"It is a short turnaround coming off our game on Saturday with North Carolina, but we are going to continue working on playing out of the back and getting some new players adjusted to our style of play," said Jim Gabarra, Sky Blue FC Technical Director & Head Coach. "I am looking forward to the challenge, seeing how it is our first road match of the preseason and also at night. Our Penn State games always seem to end in 0-0 draws, so we are looking to break out of that and score a couple goals."
Admission into the game against Penn State will be $10 per person. The match will be the third contest of the preseason for Sky Blue FC, which has recorded two consecutive wins over St. John's University (3-0) and the University of North Carolina (1-0). The final game of the 2015 Preview Series Presented by Meridian Health will take place this Sunday when Sky Blue FC hosts Rutgers University at Toms River North High School. That match, which is free to the public, will kick off at 7:00 p.m.
Sky Blue FC will open the NWSL regular season on the road when it travels to FC Kansas City on Sunday, April 12th. The team will play its home opener at Yurcak Field (Rutgers, Piscataway) on Saturday, April 18th, at 7:00 p.m., and tickets for that match are on sale now. Season tickets are also available (10 home matches), with packages starting as low as $120.
