
Skilled Forward Jonathan Lessard Headed Back to Allen

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans and Head Coach Steve Martinson announced today they have come to terms with forward Jonathan Lessard for the 2014-2015 season.
Jonathan Lessard joined the Allen Americans last year after turning pro in 2012-2013, splitting the season between San Francisco and Utah of the ECHL. He had his best numbers since juniors last season, leading Allen in goals with 28 while finishing with 57 points.
"Jonathan is a well-liked teammate," said Allen Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson. "He led our team in combined total goals regular and post-season last year with 37; I think he can get to 50 this season."
The 6"1, 23 year old left winger grew up in St-Eustache, Quebec, playing his junior hockey in the QMJHL with three different teams. He began with Drummondville in 2007-2008, scoring two points in six games. He spent the next three seasons with Acadie-Bathurst Titan where he put up back to back 30 plus goals seasons in 2009 and 2010.
Lessard was voted the CHL Player of the Week on March 23rdof last season, leading Allen to three straight wins with multiple point games recorded in all three.
The Americans begin their defense of back to back CHL Titles this October, Allen's sixth season in the Central Hockey League. Tickets for the 2014-2015 season are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com .
